Pilates is a method of exercise that encourages low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance and is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises in the 1920s.

The health benefits of Pilates include:

  • improved flexibility.

  • increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body)

  • balanced muscular strength on both sides of your body.

  • enhanced muscular control of your back and limbs.

"Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit."

Joseph Pilates

Discovering your life's Purpose and then focusing on being the very best YOU can be is one of life's great challenges.

6 years ago Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Rather than feeling joy when she was labelled a "survivor" she felt as though a light had gone out inside her. She knew she needed to take action to get the joy and glow back in her life. Having experienced other adversity in her earlier life she knew that her mindset was the key. Connie's back story is:

  • When she was 2 her father died from a routine knee surgery. - Her mother was left a widow with 6 children aged 2 to 13.  Her source of income was a dairy and grain farm.

  • 12 years later her beloved sister Madeline died in a car accident.  Connie will never forget the sheer anguish and devastation her family felt at this time.  This is when Connie developed a mindset, strength and resilience that has given her a deep seated conviction that no matter what life throws at her she will be "ok"

  • Ironically Connie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on what would have been Madeline's 55th birthday

  • Connie lives by the motto "Carpe Diem" - Sieze the Day
